Pediatric Neurosurgeon Needed at Large Private Practice in Sunny South

An established private practice in the South is currently seeking a BE/BC fellowship-trained pediatric neurosurgeon to join its collegial group. With 16 neurosurgeons practicing together in one group, this is one of the largest neurosurgical practices in its state. Their team provides a broad spectrum of neurosurgical services to people of all ages who have diseases or injuries of the brain and spine. This is the only private neurosurgery practice in this market. The new pediatric neurosurgeon will partner with the current pediatric neurosurgeon, who has a very busy practice. The new partner can expect 150 cases in year one. The pediatric neurosurgeon on staff is happy to mentor a new grad. The practice is open to someone having an all-pediatric practice or a combined adult/pediatric practice.

The group also employs physiatry and anesthesiology providers and has a well-established practice manager. This is a very well-run and collegial practice, and they are excited to welcome someone who is a team player. This is one of the few states that does not have individual state income tax.

The group admits to three hospitals:
• A 500+-bed Level I Joint Commission Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center with a 21-bed neuro ICU and bi-planar suite
• A non-trauma-designated 400+-bed community hospital
• The state's only free-standing pediatric hospital
All hospitals are equipped with resources including an MRI, CT, Stealth navigation, Cyber-knife, O-Arm and C-Arm.

Practice Highlights:
• Highly supportive team with mentorship available
• Catchment area of 2.5 million
• Call schedule for adult call is 8 times per year and pediatric call is shared with the pediatric neurosurgeon on staff with a flexible schedule. Currently, she has only had to go in approximately 8 times per year while on call. Mid-levels take first call and neurosurgeons have the ability to view scans from home with call being consultative in nature
• Each physician has a PA and the group also has additional PAs that work for the group and help with consults/rounds
• OR block time
• Track to full partnership once board certified with no buy-in to practice
• Hospital support for this position through established PSA with Children’s Hospital
• ASC ownership available to partners
