Pediatric Neurosurgery Leader Needed in Midwestern Metropolis

A preeminent private neurosurgery practice in the Midwest is seeking a pediatric neurosurgery leader. The new pediatric neurosurgeon will initially partner with two established pediatric neurosurgeons that are both looking to slow down their practice and eventually retire. The ideal candidate will have at least ten years of experience and will be interested in leading the program and eventually recruiting additional partners. The affiliated children's hospital is part of its state’s largest not-for-profit health system, with 22 ministries and over 3000 physicians.

This is a very busy pediatric clinical practice with an abundant volume of cases. One of the pediatric neurosurgeons on staff enjoys epilepsy cases, and the new hire can expect a wide variety of cases. The adult trauma neurosurgeon on call serves as the first line for nights and weekends, along with an in-house neurosurgery APP service. The pediatric neurosurgeon on call is not in-house but has to come in as necessary. The practice maintains a very collegial arrangement. which includes support from pediatric APPs in both surgery and outpatient setting.

The hiring practice has an established neurosurgery residency program which offers the opportunity to teach neurosurgery residents. There is also the opportunity and support for research and publishing.
