The organization is seeking a board-certified MD or DO with experience and a strong interest in Migraine and Headache Medicine to join its growing team. Candidate Qualifications
• MD or DO, with active California, Texas, or Washington State license. Physicians are not required to hold licensure at the time of hire, and Haven Headache and Migraine Center will cover all licensing costs
• Completion of a Headache Medicine fellowship and/or current certification through the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties (UCNS) is required
• At least 5 years of clinical experience treating patients with migraine and headache disorders
• Preference for leadership experience, such as training or supervising NPs/PAs or leading within a practice or program
• Engagement with the headache community, such as organizational involvement with the AHS and/or HCOP
• Preference for someone with publications, research, or articles related to headache or migraine medicine
• Demonstrates a compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care
• Proficient in, or willing to oversee, procedures such as Botox for chronic migraine, nerve blocks, and trigger point injections
• Comfortable practicing in a virtual-first care model, with strong communication skills
• Enthusiastic about innovation, equity, and expanding access to specialized care
• A kind, collaborative, and flexible team player
Key Responsibilities
• Provide virtual consultations and follow-up care for patients with migraine and other headache disorders
• Interpret comprehensive headache histories and diagnose in accordance with ICHD-3 criteria
• Develop personalized, evidence-based treatment plans, including preventive and acute pharmacologic therapies, neuromodulation devices, supplements, and integrative strategies
• Review patient headache diary data to monitor treatment efficacy and support timely care adjustments
• Engage patients in shared decision-making and provide education on lifestyle factors, including sleep, nutrition, hydration, and physical activity
• Collaborate with internal operations, design, and engineering teams to further advance the telemedicine model and digital health tools
• Oversee and mentor a team of advanced practice providers (NPs and PAs)
• Option to perform or supervise procedural headache care, such as Botox injections and nerve blocks, based on interest and expertise
Schedule & Work Structure
• 1.0 FTE position
• Weekly expectations include:
• 30 hours of clinical care
• 10 hours of APP supervision and administrative responsibilities
• No weekend or after-hours call
• Standard schedule:
• Monday–Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
