Pediatric Neurosurgery Position with Academically-Affiliated Mid-Atlantic Practice

A premier Mid-Atlantic private practice is hiring a pediatric neurosurgeon to work at a state-of-the-art children's hospital. The new pediatric neurosurgeon will join one existing pediatric neurosurgeon to further develop the pediatric neurosurgery service line. The current pediatric neurosurgeon is interested in focusing more on adult neurosurgery cases and is happy to share pediatric neurosurgery referrals.

The group is involved in neurosurgery resident teaching; the practice is affiliated with an academic institution with plans to start a neurosurgery residency. Pediatric neurosurgeons interested in conducting research will be accommodated by a program which receives strong funding from the NIH.

The new hire will primarily admit to a 100+ bed hospital that is designated Level II Pediatric Trauma. U.S. News & World Report ranks this the best children’s hospital in its state.

Practice Highlights:
• Pediatric neurosurgery call will be Q3 and highly consultative; call is shared with other pediatric neurosurgeons in the community
• Expected first year pediatric neurosurgery volumes of 50-75 and 150+ once established
• Referrals from pediatric neurologists, primary care, and other pediatric specialists in community
• 12 APPs employed by the neurosurgery group provide 24/7 coverage
• Block OR time guaranteed
• Clinical and translational research opportunities available
• Neurosurgery resident teaching
• Latest equipment and technology
• Highly competitive base salary and bonus potential

Area Highlights:
This community allows its residents to experience one of the biggest cities in the world whenever they please without having to live in a high-rise apartment complex. The region is highly developed and modernized while still allowing space for parklands and private homes. The area is home to professional football, some of the largest, most diverse shopping malls in the country, and terrific local arts programs—not to mention all the arts and culture in the nearby megalopolis.
