Pediatric Epilepsy Director Faculty Opportunity at RI Children's Hospital

A well-known academic children’s hospital in Rhode Island is excited to welcome a Director of Pediatric Epilepsy to lead their multidisciplinary Pediatric Epilepsy Program, including medical and surgical Epilepsy services. Epilepsy subspecialists with leadership and surgical experience and those interested in general child neurology cases will be well-supported.

Children’s Hospital Highlights:
• Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center
• Affiliated with a 719-bed acute care facility
• 87-bed facility, and attached 80-bed facility with region’s largest NICU
• 16-bed Pediatric ICU with the state’s only 24/7 pediatric critical care team
• ACGME pediatric residency and fellowship programs
• ACGME child neurology residency program in development

Epilepsy Program Highlights:
• Join an established division of 10 pediatric neurologists (including 4 pediatric Epileptologists) and 2 NPs
• 15 EEG technologists with 3 supervisor/lead EEG technologists
• Program coordinator, social work, neuropsychology, and dietician (ketogenic diet) onsite
• Available EEG and Epilepsy volume, building to ~70% Epilepsy practice
• Annual volumes: EMU (2 dedicated beds): ~200 studies/year; EEG lab: 880 inpatient studies/year; Outpatient: 1,300 outpatient studies/year
• Active Epilepsy surgery program
• On-site and remote EEG reading capabilities
• 1:4 EEG reading rotation
• Support from a full complement of Epilepsy services including Ketogenic Diet, Neuromodulation (VNS, RNS), and stereo-EEG
• Teaching opportunities with pediatric and neurology residents and fellows
• Faculty appointment
