Academic Affiliated Community Hospital in Northeast

A community hospital in collaboration with an established academic program is committed to advancing the clinical Neuroscience services available to the rural community in the northeast. This collaboration has as its primary focus the creation of a local “Neuroscience Center of Excellence” to provide patients in the region the neurological and neurosurgical care that they need.

We would like to identify an experienced general neurosurgeon who will build a neurosurgical practice working as a full time regional faculty member of the Department of Neurosurgery. This practice would involve performing surgical cases at the community hospital, which would be primarily elective and spine focused. The candidate would have the option of bringing cranial and more complex cases to the main campus; and depending on personal preference would have the option of participating in the on call rotation at the main campus, a level I trauma center The candidate would be encouraged to attend Friday morning conference virtually and monthly business meetings in person.

• Strong clinical emphasis on elective spine
• No trauma; patient call is very light and consultative
• Hospital has C-Arm and Jackson table. Budgeting for O-Arm and Stealth
• Anticipated first year volume of ~125 cases and 250+ once established
• Clinical faculty appointment offers opportunity to be involved in resident teaching, collaborative research, Grand Rounds, conferences, and faculty retreats
