Southwestern Academic Program Seeks Dual Vascular Trained Neurosurgeon

A major university in the sunny southwest is actively recruiting for a neurosurgeon with fellowship training in endovascular neurosurgery as well as a desire to practice general neurosurgery. This academic center is the state’s only Level 1 Trauma center and Joint Commission Accredited Primary Stroke Center. The hospital is preparing to transition to Comprehensive Stroke Center status.

Become part of a dynamic neurosurgery team consisting of 5 well-established surgeons, one of which is endovascular trained with an additional neurosurgeon joining this summer. There are 7 nurse practitioners on staff, with one dedicated to the endovascular service. A strong referral base exists, with a robust critical emergent tele neurology program (ACCESS) serving 19 hospitals across the state.

Each neurosurgeon does 200-240 cases per year. The Department of Neurosurgery has a case load and patient population for 8 Neurosurgeons. Endovascular call will be 1:3. Competitive two-year guaranteed salary plus a comprehensive benefit package.
