Dual Vascular Neurosurgery Position at Academic Center

A dynamic academic neurosurgery department is recruiting an ABNS BE/BC dual vascular neurosurgeon for their comprehensive stroke center. The neurosurgeon will walk into a busy dual vascular neurosurgery practice with two other vascular trained neurosurgeons. The new neurosurgeon can expect to see 300+ cases the first year and 400+ cases once ramped up. Cases will be primarily vascular with some general neurosurgery cases.

Collegial candidates with a team player mentality will best fit the program culture. Both trainees and experienced neurosurgeons are invited to apply. A leadership position may be available for the right candidate.

This medical center is a Top 100 Hospital by Becker's Hospital Review. The 900-bed hospital, is the only Level I trauma center and the only academic hospital in the state. The hospital has recently expanded and is continuing to expand the number of beds and ORs. The Stroke Center has achieved certification for excellence in stroke care from The Joint Commission, a nationally recognized accrediting agency, and has been recognized by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association with the Stroke Silver Plus Quality Achievement Award and the Target: Stroke Honor Roll Award. In addition to their health system, their relationship with another local health system provides an additional state-wide referral net.

Protected research is available. There are numerous opportunities including grants for partnering with a lab, clinical research, imaging, or database focused research. Teaching opportunities are available as well.

Practice Highlights:
• Support for the neurosurgeons includes NPs, RNs, and MAs and the new neurosurgeon will have a mid-level provided.
• Vascular call is 1:3 at the main campus, and 1:4 at Mercy Oklahoma City, a beautiful 400-bed community hospital.
• Residents take first call.
• Equipment includes: 2 bi-planes, MRI, CT, Image guided navigation equipment, new Gamma Knife Icon, LINAC, Proton, O-Arm, C-Arm.
• Block OR time is available
