A well-regarded health system in the South is seeking a fellowship trained academic minimally invasive spine focused neurosurgeon to join their nationally recognized program.
This main campus position offers the opportunity to train neurosurgical residents and to participate in basic, translational and clinical research. Opportunities to collaborate with an extensive team of scientists, neuro-scientists, PhD’s, and others are also available here. Research studies specific to peripheral nerve, stroke, trauma, spinal cord and other anatomical studies currently exist. Protected research time is available and start-up lab funds may be offered.
Infrastructure for clinical trials includes a database system as well as in-house data statisticians, medical illustrator, and medical photography. Administrative assistance in handling regulatory issues such as IRB, clinical trial certification, contracting and budgeting are also in place.
The neurosurgery program has the latest in technology including two microscopes, two neuro-navigation systems, a full endoscopy system and minimally-invasive spine systems. The ability for motor and speech mapping is available as is the ability to perform awake craniotomies. The department enjoys the full support of dedicated multi-disciplinary team of neuro-intensivists, neuro-anesthesiologists, neuro-nurses and a dedicated neuro-call team as well as neurointerventional radiology, neurology, pain management, and rehab services.
