Academic Memory Disorders Leadership Opportunity in Virginia

An academic medical center in Virginia is seeking a memory disorders neurologist to join its faculty. The ideal candidate would be someone interested in leading the division.

Program Highlights:
• 45 neurologists on faculty
• Neurology residency program (6 residents/ year) and fellowships in neurocritical care, EEG, EMG, neuropsychology, experimental epilepsy, movement disorders, MS, neuromuscular, neuro-oncology, and stroke
• State of the art diagnostics
• Neurology inpatient support from 2 full-time neurohospitalists

Position Highlights:
• Outpatient practice, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
• Call is only 6-8 weeks/year
• Memory disorders-trained nurse practitioner
• Program has federal funding to support their novel model of care
• Recipient of Best Practices Award from the Commonwealth Council on Aging and Aging Innovations Award by the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging
• Cognitive patients travel from all of Virginia and several surrounding states for care
• On-going clinical trials and support for clinical research interests
• Interdisciplinary team of neuropsychologists, geriatrician, speech language pathologist, and social worker. The department also has endowed funds to support the hiring of additional providers.
