Academic Teaching-Hospital in New York Hiring Cranial Neurosurgeon and Spine Neurosurgeon

World-class teaching hospital in New York City is seeking a cranial-focused neurosurgeon interested in skull base/neurosurgical oncology. The group is ready to welcome new and experienced neurosurgeons alike and is eager to provide mentorship. The Division of Neurosurgery is recruiting to backfill a recent faculty departure.

This Health System includes 3 hospitals and more than 80 community-based practices and outpatient centers. Its flagship hospital is one of the largest independent teaching hospitals in the nation. Its programs rank best in the country for patient outcomes, including its Neurosciences Institute and Cancer Center. The hospital is dedicated to fostering a culture of innovation and focusing on clinical excellence with a patient-centered approach.

Position Highlights:
* Cranial neurosurgeon can expect ~40 tumor cases/year with ability to grow to 80-100/year.
* ~150 cases first year, 250+ when established
* Call schedule is 1:3 with PA’s handling all consults, middle of night call is uncommon
* OR Block time is available
* Significant research funding available and active clinical trials
* Ability to teach medical students, non-neurosurgery residents and fellows, and PA’s
* Latest technology available–no equipment limitations including O-Arm, MRI, CT, image guided neuro-navigation
* 11 neurosurgical PAs do consults and assist in OR and do all floor work
* Catchment size: 3 million people
* 13-bed Surgical ICU
