A well-regarded academic program in the northeast is seeking a spine-focused general Neurosurgeon to join one its affiliated community hospitals. Interests in minimally-invasive spine preferred but not required. The new surgeon will play an important role in the growth of a multidisciplinary spine center and will work with faculty partners to seamlessly integrate the general neurosurgery offered in the community with subspecialty programs which are currently positioned at the main campus.

Main Campus collaborations include the opportunity to participate in surgical, educational and research activities at the University; participation in skills labs and cadaver courses; faculty meetings and retreats; research and programmatic opportunities and participation in strategic initiatives designed to improve Neuroscience care in the region. This faculty position can be tailored to individual interests to assure professional satisfaction.

This medical center is a 204-bed hospital serving a four county region in the Finger Lake Region of New York. This acute-care center has three inpatient CT scanners, two outpatient scanners, a new 3.0 Tesla wide bore MRI in house and a second wide bore MRI at an outpatient location. It also has an O - Arm, a Brainlab stereotactic system and Leica neurosurgical operating microscopes. The new surgeon will enjoy a flexible work schedule, allowing for a good quality of life. This medical center is not a designated level I or II trauma center but rather a flourishing community hospital with many prestigious affiliations.

This opportunity is located in the scenic Finger Lakes Region. Endless opportunities abound in and around the community to enjoy the outdoors, whether it is hiking in the many state parks or national forest, or biking in what was ranked the 4th best in the country according to Bike Magazine. Cross country and downhill skiing are easily accessible as well as a gorgeous local lake for any water activities. The Finger Lakes is the second largest wine region in the country. It is also home to several nearby colleges and high schools which create a youthful and energetic atmosphere. Housing is easily and readily available with a number of choices that includes walking to work downtown. Boston, New York, and Philadelphia are all within reasonable driving distance for a weekend getaway as well as the Adirondack Mountains for a hiking or skiing weekend.
